About the Free Store

Bethany’s Free Store opened for the first time in March of 2022. Our Free Store aims to help those who are lower-income and/or eligible for Michigan Bridge Cards to receive non-food items that cannot be purchased with their Bridge Cards. Currently, almost 300 local households are registered with the Free Store.

On the first Tuesday of each month, we ask for six volunteers to serve a two-hour shift at the Free Store to assist shoppers. We would also appreciate assistance at various times during the month to help with inventory.

Free Store donations can be given via checks made out to Bethany Lutheran Church (with “The Free Store” in the memo line), or online by clicking the button below and designating your donation in the Free Store box.
